Two years ago the GPBA opened our doors for the very first time. Now, two years later, I'd say we're in a pretty good place!
I know i've been bad at sticking around here, but I wanted to thank all of you who haven't forgotten about us here. You're all super-special-awesome for doing so!!
Which is why, as my gift to the site this year, I have something special in mind. I don't really know if it'll work out...but expect to see it on Monday if it does.
Now...anybody else here at Connecticon? Let me know if yes; Saturday i'm going as Emerald-style May. Maybe I'll see some of you here!
Michele Knotz, the post-4kids voice actress of May, is going to be at Connecticon from August 1-3rd in Hartford, CT!
For all of you who live near the area (which is probably most of you), this sounds like its going to be pretty cool. I myself will be there sometime, and am curious to see if anybody else here is going! Maybe we could do a Pokemon cosplay group or something?
Here's a blurb about Michele from her Wikipedia page:
: Wikipedia.org
Born in New Jersey, she studied acting at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pennsylvania before transferring to study television and radio production at Marywood University in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Knotz was the winner of the 2003 Anime Idol voice acting contest held at the now defunct Big Apple Anime Fest convention in New York City and debuted in the role of Hajime Yagi in The World of Narue. Since 2006, she has been the voices of Team Rocket's Jessie, Misty, May, and Nurse Joy in the Pok?mon USA English dub of the Pok?mon anime meta series.
Summer is here, and with summer comes a new layout featuring the ultimate summertime water Pokemon trainer, Misty and her unforgettable Psyduck!
I also am in the process of changing some things around the site. Right now, I've added a "Coming Soon" box, with latest release dates for everything Pokemon-related, a Topistes/Affiliates box, which needs affiliates, and the cool navigation bar seen above.
If anybody has any weird issues with the new layout, please PM/Email myself with your browser info (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.), the bug, and a picture of it (hit alt+print screen on a PC and paste that into paint). This layout is bug free for Firefox, however I'm unsure about other browsers. Thanks for your help!
I'm also in the process of creating a fanart gallery. I know some users on here were interested in having one, as well as a place for Fanfiction. For now, feel free to use your blog as a place to keep your fanfiction, until I find some permanent place for them.
I'm also thinking about having fanfiction/fanart contests. What do other users think? There'd probably be one a month, and users would vote/pick the winner. They'd be theme based, of course.
For now though, soak up the summer sun and enjoy the new GPBA!
